
Mexico says it accepted 39K deportees from the US, mostly Mexican nationals

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said the country has received nearly 39,000 deportees since President Donald Trump began his second term.
"Since President Trump's administration began, 38,757 have been deported [from the U.S. to Mexico], of which 33,311 are Mexicans and 5,446 are foreigners," Sheinbaum said. "The majority of people who are returning to Mexico are Mexicans, because the U.S. government, through the Department of State, has agreements for them to return directly to their countries," Sheinbaum continued.
