Mets’ Kevin Pillar has multiple nasal fractures after bloody beaning
NY Post
Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar suffered multiple nasal fractures after being hit in the face with a fastball Monday night, the team announced. He’s set to meet a facial specialist in Atlanta to determine the next course of action.
Pillar, 32, was beaned by Jacob Webb’s 94 mph fastball in the top of the seventh inning and blood immediately gushed from his face. After several moments on the ground, he was able to walk off while covering his face with a towel. “Thanks to everyone that has reached out!” Pillar wrote on Twitter after the game. “Scary moment, but I’m doing fine.”
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
