Mets dumping head of HR, general counsel after review of workplace culture
NY Post
The day of reckoning arrived for the Mets Monday amidst a turbulent first go-round for the Steve Cohen Era.
The hedge-fund magnate Cohen, who purchased the team last fall, announced in an internal email that two longtime, high-ranking employees, general counsel David Cohen and senior vice president of human resources and diversity Holly Lindvall, would be let go following a transition period. The firings resulted from an internal review of the team’s culture by the law firm WilmerHale in the wake of a slew of off-the-field sexual harassment controversies. The email, a copy of which was obtained by The Post, makes clear that team president Sandy Alderson, who took accountability for the two most high-profile imbroglios, is viewed as part of the solution. Alderson, as per Cohen’s words, has started a weekly email to all employees as part of an initiative to increase communication and transparency.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
