Mets-Cardinals rained out, rescheduled for Sunday doubleheader
NY Post
The Mets and Cardinals won’t play Saturday afternoon thanks to some inclement weather.
With thunderstorms in the forecast, the 2:15 p.m. ET game was postponed and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Sunday.
The teams will play the two games of the twin bill at 1:15 and 6:15 p.m.
Blade Tidwell is scheduled to make his MLB debut in the opener against Erick Fedde.
Tylor Megill is slated to get the ball in Game 2 against Andre Pallante.
As much as the Mets aren’t thrilled with a doubleheader, it probably beats the alternative: returning to St. Louis later in the season to play on a mutually scheduled off day.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
