
McConnell throws support behind Senate's 'Electoral Count Act' reform bill

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Tuesday said he will support a bipartisan bill to reform the Electoral Count Act in the wake of the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.

Spearheaded by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and a group of moderate Democrats and Republicans, the bill picked 22 total sponsors – an even number from each party – before McConnell voiced his support.
