
McCarthy set to lose 9th speaker vote, as Donalds and Hern split GOP votes

Rep.-elect Kevin McCarthy appears to have lost the ninth round of voting for House speaker this week after failing to capture any of the 21 Republican holdouts.

In the second round, Republican Reps.-elect Lauren Boebert of Colorado and Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma both switched their votes from Donalds to Rep.-elect Kevin Hern, the Republican Study Committee chairman of Oklahoma, who was not officially nominated.
