Massachusetts man charged with mom's murder chokes on wet toilet paper, dies in custody

A Cape Cod, Massachusetts, man, accused of murdering his mom then setting her remains ablaze in her front lawn, died in police custody on Sunday, officials said.

"Mr. Howe clogged his airways with wet toilet paper and suffered a medical emergency," the statement said.  Rebecca Rosenberg is a veteran journalist and book author with a focus on crime and criminal justice. Email tips to rebecca.rosenberg@fox.com and @ReRosenberg.
