On Tues., leaders from various political parties gathered in Sivaganga district to mark the 222nd anniversary of Marudhu Brothers. Collector Asha Ajith hoisted the national flag and garlanded the statues at Manimandapam. Ministers, MLAs, and other volunteers paid tributes at the memorial. AIADMK, MDMK, AMMK, Congress, BJP, OPS faction, Thevar outfits, and Madurai Adheenam Gnanasambanda Desika Swamigal were all present.
Marking the 222nd anniversary of Maruthupandian brothers (Marudhu Brothers), leaders from various political parties garlanded the statues at the Manimandapam in Tirupattur in Sivaganga district on Tuesday.
Sivaganga Collector Asha Ajith hoisted the national flag and garlanded the statues at the Manimandapam. Ministers Thangam Thennarasu, K R Periakaruppan, R.S. Raja Kannappan and P. Moorthy and DMK MLA A. Tamilarasi garlanded the statues and paid tributes at the memorial near the bus stand.
Representing the AIADMK, former ministers Dindigul C. Srinivasan, Natham R. Viswanathan, R. B. Udayakumar, G. Baskaran, Sellur K. Raju, C. Vijayabaskar and O. S. Manian and MLA Rajan Chellappa garlanded the statues.
MDMK principal headquarters secretary Durai Vaiko, AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, Congress MLA Mangudi, BJP’s Sethu Sivaraman and Dharmar MP representing OPS faction and other volunteers and leaders from the Thevar outfits and Madurai Adheenam Gnanasambanda Desika Swamigal garlanded the statues.

Currently, only the services in the 32 series stop at the section of the road adjacent to the Broadway terminus, temporarily closed on account of reconstruction work. Small traders association tells R. Ragu that ensuring the services now accommodated at the temporary terminus at Island Grounds stop at NSC Bose road would benefit visitors to the markets in Parrys

The silent reading movement in the Mylapore-Mandaveli-RA Puram area showed up first at Nageswara Rao Park around two years ago, with modest ambitions, when Balaji launched it along with other reading enthusiasts from the region. This initiative has now moved parks, and seems to set to get entrenched in one. Due to renovation work at Nageswara Park, the reading session became irregular. With the Nageswara Rao park work gaining more surface area, it had to be shifted elsewhere. And it seems set to continue with a newly discovered green patch in RK Nagar in the Sundays to follow.
