Mariana L. Neisuler becomes Consul General in Chennai, focusing on enhancing U.S.-India partnerships and trade relations.
Mariana L. Neisuler assumed charge as the Consul General of the United States in Chennai on March 2, 2026.
Ms. Neisuler was the Counsellor for Political and Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent before being posted in Chennai. She has also served as the Deputy Economic Counsellor at U.S. Embassies in Jerusalem and Amman, and has had tours in Washington D.C., Dubai, Skopje, and Moscow.
A press release quoted Ms. Neisuler as saying that she would focus on strengthening partnerships that deliver real results for both Americans and Indians and “look forward to expanding trade ties, supporting American businesses, and fostering the people-to-people connections that make our relationship so strong.”
