Manipur Police to set up social media monitoring cell to ensure 'prompt action' against 'unlawful content'

The Manipur Police has issued an order instructing all district superintendents of police to set up social media monitoring cells within their units immediately in order to ensure 'prompt action' against 'unlawful content'.
In an order issued by the office of the additional director general of police (intelligence), all district superintendents of police (SPs) have been asked to “continuously monitor all posts/uploads/comments posted in all dialects of Manipur on various social media platforms". “For effective monitoring of social media platforms and for taking prompt legal action, all district SPs should establish social media monitoring cells in their respective units immediately,” the order dated July 15 read.More Related News
