Police said the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Cityscape Way N.E.
Officers remained at the scene for several hours, before leaving around 4 a.m.
CTV News spoke with a man who said he’s the victim’s father. He did not give his name.
The man said his family was woken up by five loud bangs outside their home.
He said his daughter looked out the window, and saw his son sitting injured in a car.
