Man held for burglary in Industrial Area shops

The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation arrested an Arab national for burglary and theft in some shops in the Industrial Area, the Ministry of Interior (MoI|) said yesterday. An intensive search and investigation operation was carried out after the department received complaints about theft in several shops in the Industrial Area, leading to the arrest of the accused upon taking the necessary permissions, the MoI said in posts on social media.The arrested person confessed to the charges and said he used to enter the shops in the area after midnight using different methods and steal money and other valuable items. The investigation team found, at his residence, some of the stolen items as well as the tools he used to carry out the crimes. Accordingly, the items were taken into custody and the accused was referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures in this regard. “The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation calls on shopkeepers to secure their stores properly, install alarm systems, ensure that surveillance cameras function well and not leave money in the store,” the MoI said.
