A man is dead in an officer-involved shooting in Mississauga early Saturday morning, said Peel police.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to calls of a domestic disturbance near Polygon Court in Mississauga, said Peel police Cst. Tyler Bell-Morena at the scene.
He said that call led officers to an interaction with a suspect, which resulted in shots being fired, near Fifth Line and Dundas Street.
An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene and officers were not injured in the incident, he said.
Bell-Morena said the Special Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation.
There is no active threat in the community, but there will be a large police presence in the area given how "convoluted" the scene is, he said.
