The Malayalam film industry mourned the untimely demise of Dennis Joseph, who had brought accolades to the Malayalam cinema. Dennis Joseph, who is known for bringing superstardom to Mohanlal with Rajavinte Makan and a comeback like no other for Mammootty with New Delhi, was one of the most successful screenwriters of Malayalam cinema. Though he began his journey as a screenwriter with Eeran Sandhya in 1985, he soon made his directorial debut with Manu Uncle starring Mammootty in the lead role.
