Majority of House Dems vote to allow noncitizen voting in DC
Fox News
The House of Representatives passed a bill to repeal Washington, D.C.'s noncitizen voting law on Thursday.
The D.C. law was passed by the progressive city council in 2022 and recently survived a court challenge earlier this year. Elizabeth Elkind is a politics reporter for Fox News Digital leading coverage of the House of Representatives. Previous digital bylines seen at Daily Mail and CBS News.
Republicans who opposed the bill warned that allowing non-Americans to help decide what local officials run the nation's capital could have negative effects on national security. Follow on Twitter at @liz_elkind and send tips to elizabeth.elkind@fox.com
