Baghdad: Iraq's Dhi Qar Antiquities Inspectorate announced major archaeological and architectural discoveries this season, including about 1,500 artifacts from various historical periods and significant urban remains at key southern sites.
The finds, uncovered by 10 international missions working at Ur, Lagash, Girsu, Eridu, and Larsa, include cuneiform tablets, cylinder seals, and pottery, all transferred to the National Museum in Baghdad.
Architectural discoveries featured Larsa's city gate and outer wall, major buildings in Girsu, and an ancient irrigation canal in Lagash.
