Maharashtra GR against fee hike being not applicable for schools who decided fees before May 2020
India Today
The Maharashtra GR is against the rule stating that the fee hike will not be applicable for schools that had decided their fee model before May 8, 2020.
The Bombay High Court has said that the Maharashtra government's resolution (GR) of ordering schools to not increase the fees for the academic year 2020-2021, in view of the pandemic, was only prospective in nature and cannot apply to schools that have already fixed their fee for the Academic Year 2020-2021. The division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and G S Kulkarni heard the petitions regarding the fee hike at Maharashtra schools due to the pandemic at length and have now passed a 13-page order. The court has also specified that the GR does not and cannot be construed as a direction for a refund of any fees collected for 2020-2021.More Related News
