All Breeds Championship dog shows by Madras Canine Club conclude with German Shepherds and Doberman winning top prizes.
The curtains came down on the All Breeds Championship dog shows organised by the Madras Canine Club on Sunday. The two-day event ended with a prize distribution ceremony.
Two German Shepherds and a Doberman won top honours in the 143rd, 144th and 145th shows. Native breeds, including a Caravan Hound, won prizes.
Prashanth Pachi’s Doberman won in the Best Puppy category. “I’ve been in the dog show circle for the past 12-13 years. Initially I used to show Golden Retrievers and Labrador,” he said.
The Great Dane Club of India and the Doberman Pinscher Confederation of India put on speciality shows. This year, over 350 participants took part in the dog shows. Surya Krishna, who has been a handler for 10 years, had shown a Caravan Hound dog, which had won in the Best Indian Breed category at the show.
Visiting with his two daughters, founder and Chief Executive Officer of AyatiWorks Upendran Nandakumar said, “We love dogs and also show our Doberman in such shows. By visiting this dog show, I hope my daughters too will take it up.”
C.V. Sudarsan, president of the Madras Canine Club and other members of the club were present at the awards distribution ceremony.
