Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth’s ‘Test’ to premiere on this date
The field is all set! We had previously reported that the Tamil film Testwill skip theatrical release and hit Netflix directly. It’s now known that the film, which is also the platform’s first original Tamil film of the year, has gotten its premiere date.
Starring R Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth, along with Meera Jasmine, Test will stream on Netflix from April 4. The platform’s social media handles shared the news.
Backed by YNOT Studios, the film marks the directorial debut of producer S Sashikanth. A statement from the makers regarding the film said, “Not all tests are about winning — some test your courage, your dreams, and the sacrifices you make for them. In a game where the stakes are personal and the consequences unforgettable, every move matters. One moment, one choice — that’s all it takes to be the hero or the villain.”
The director shares, “Having nurtured stories as a producer for years, stepping into the director’s chair for Test was both exhilarating and deeply personal. This film is about resilience, the weight of choices, and how life itself is the greatest test of all. Bringing together three powerhouse performers — R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth — for the first time made this journey even more special. I’m grateful to YNOT Studios, Netflix, and my incredible team for bringing this vision to life.”
Sashikanth has produced the film alongside Chakravarthy Ramachandra. Playback singer Shaktisree Gopalan will make her debut as the music director. Test will also be released in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi along with Tamil.

The silent reading movement in the Mylapore-Mandaveli-RA Puram area showed up first at Nageswara Rao Park around two years ago, with modest ambitions, when Balaji launched it along with other reading enthusiasts from the region. This initiative has now moved parks, and seems to set to get entrenched in one. Due to renovation work at Nageswara Park, the reading session became irregular. With the Nageswara Rao park work gaining more surface area, it had to be shifted elsewhere. And it seems set to continue with a newly discovered green patch in RK Nagar in the Sundays to follow.
