Satyendra Pathak Doha Lulu Hypermarket, the region’s leading retailer, on Monday launched the fourth edition of the ‘Let’s Eatalian Festival’ in Qatar to offer various food products of Italian origin across its several outlets in the country.Organised in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Qatar, the new iteration of the ‘Let’s Eatalian Festival’ is showcasing over 50 new Italian products introduced for the first time in Qatar at attractive prices. The fourth edition of the promotional campaign will run for a week and is dedicated to the Italian culinary and food tradition and largely focused on boosting the sales of authentic Italian food products in Qatar.Italy’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Alessandro Prunas inaugurated the festival at the Al Messila branch of Lulu Hypermarket in the presence of Lulu Group International Director Dr Mohamed Althaf, Italian Trade Commissioner to Qatar Giosafat Rigano, officials from the Italian Trade Agency, Italian Embassy, Lulu Hypermarket and other dignitaries.Speaking on the occasion, Prunas said, “Let’s Etalian Festival is being held at Lulu Hypermarket regularly. This is my fourth visit to Lulu Hypermarket to open the Italian Festival during my presence in Qatar for the last one and a half years. This festival shows the great partnership between Embassy of Italy in Qatar and Lulu Hypermarket.”He said that the partnership is growing fast in terms of increasing the availability of Italian products in Qatar. “I am really happy to see that the range of products that Lulu is bringing from Italy to Qatar through the agreement between Lulu and the Italian Trade Commission,” the envoy said.“It is not that only quantity of Italy products in Lulu shelves increasing but the quality products as well. Italy offers quality food products in large quantities. Italian food is always associated with high quality and healthy products,” the ambassador said.He said that eating Italian food products means eating healthy. “Through the bridge which we created with Lulu, we are expanding a culture of nutrition, which is very important,” the envoy said.Speaking on the occasion Rigano said that Let’s Etalian Festival is very important to promote Italian products in Qatar. He said that a new business hub of Lulu is going to officially open soon in Milan city of Italy.“The new Lulu facility in Italy will open doors for new projects, activities and promotional activities to enhance import from Italy to Qatar,” Rigano said.Describing Lulu Hypermarket as an extraordinary partner for Italian Trade Commission, Rigano said, “I feel proud to be in partnership with Lulu during the past four years. We made great achievements in enhancing the import from Italy to Qatar.”Highlighting the Italian excellence in the food sector, the festival is showcasing a wide range of Italian products like fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses and dairy products, olive oil to pasta, sauces and salad dressings like balsamic vinegar, canned vegetables, canned tomato as well as the best Italian rice, confectionery, coffee, biscuits, chocolates, sauces, spices, condiments and many more. The festival’s opening was marked by an exciting cookery demo of Italian cuisine. In a statement released on occasion, Lulu Hypermarket said, “The festival is a great way to explore the tastes and goodness of Italian ingredients at prices that are deliciously surprising!” “Characterised by simplicity, Italian cuisine is known for the least number of ingredients. Pasta, vegetables, olive oil and fish are a major part of Italian cuisine. Generally, Italian cooks rely chiefly on the quality of the ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation. With Italian food trending worldwide, it is a great opportunity to explore a wide range of new products, favourite classics and time-tested popular brands of foods,” it said. The festival entitled ‘Let’s Eatalian – Authentically Italian Products Promotion in Qatar 2020-2021,’ is the fourth and the last quarterly edition as per the agreement signed in July between the ITA and LuLu Hypermarket Qatar. Under this agreement, the vision of ITA and the Italian Embassy to promote Italian products in Qatar is being manifested through Lulu Hypermarket.Rather than a festival of Italian food, it is more of a celebration of the rich heritage of advances made by Italy in various sectors. As a large-scale importer of Italian products for decades together, Lulu Hypermarket has been conducting the Italian Festival for the last 16 years in succession.Extensive promotional campaign through instore branding, newspaper and radio ads, social media, booklets and google ads have been organised to make the festival a grand success.
