Lovlina Borgohain is on the cusp of making history. She is in the semifinal of the women’s welterweight competition at the Tokyo Olympics where she will be up against her Turkish opponent B Surmeneli. The 23-year-old is all set to reach where no other Indian boxer has ever been that is entering the finale of an Olympic. Before her, MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singh have won bronze at an Olympic event. Her father Tiken Borgohain says one should not ‘undermine’ any boxer and the results can be seen only when the boxers are ‘inside the ring.’
