The murder rate in Los Angeles is reportedly on pace to match last year when homicides surged during the pandemic with around 350 killed.
Last year’s homicide rate was the highest number in more than 10 years, and the city could reach around 340 homicides in 2021, the Daily News reported. "We can’t discount the trauma from the pandemic young people are experiencing," L.A. police Chief Michel Moore said, according to the Daily News. "It won’t be a switch.
