London: London is facing transport chaos as members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union stage a series of strikes.
The strikes are scheduled for September 7 to 12, resulting in an early shutdown of services on Sunday evening and a four-day closure of the entire London Underground network starting Monday.
This means little to no subway service until Friday, causing significant disruption for passengers.
The walkout follows failed negotiations between the RMT and Transport for London (TfL), the city's transport authority, over pay and a reduced working week.
The RMT said in a statement that "management's dismissive approach" has fueled anger and distrust among staff, who voted overwhelmingly in favor of strike action.
