Liquor sales continue in Mathura despite CM Yogi Adityanath's ban order: Here's why

Liquor sales are continuing in Mathura despite Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath announcing a ban on the the sale of meat and liquor in the janmabhoomi of Lord Krishna. An excise department official explains why...
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath had recently announced a ban on the sale of liquor and meat around Krishna Janmabhoomi, declaring almost the entire Mathura city of Agra division as a pilgrimage site.
But even after the announcement by the chief minister, liquor and bhang shops are still operating in the city. Looking at the sales, it seems that there is little chance of the sale of these intoxicants stopping in Mathura soon.
