Lifting of Title 42 causing crisis, sending wrong message to migrants, says head of Texas charity
Fox News
The head of a charity that operates near the southern border said the ending of Title 42 is causing a crisis in the region and giving migrants the wrong idea.
"Title 42 is causing a crisis because it's sending the wrong message letting people think that the border is open and everybody can come," she said. "Because of that, we're starting to see a crisis." Louis Casiano is a reporter for Fox News Digital. Story tips can be sent to louis.casiano@fox.com.
Title 42 is expected to expire on Thursday and a surge of migrants is excepted to accompany the lifting of the Trump-era public health order. The order was implemented in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and millions of migrants have been rapidly expelled back to Mexico under the order for public health reasons.
