Poompuhar has put an extensive collection of brass and clay lamps of varying sizes on display at Poompuhar ahead of the Karthigai Deepam festival.
Crafted at Poompuhar production centres at Nachiyar Kovil, Madurai and Vagaikulam, the display features lamps for homes, temples, offices and educational institutions, and they range from four inches to five feet. Among the offerings are Annam lamps, Parrot lamps, Vasamalai lamps, Mangala lamps, and Sangu Chakara brass lamps. New arrivals for the season include Lotus lamps and rose flower-shaped lamps. The collection ranges in size from four inches to five feet.
Prices start at ₹15 and go up to ₹1.60 lakh, with a 10% discount on all purchases. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until December 18.
