Lakers, Nets have trade ‘offers ready’ for Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell with intriguing offseason ahead
NY Post
With the Cavaliers down 3-1 in their second-round series with the Celtics, the Donovan Mitchell trade speculation has begun even before the team’s season is over.
“There are a number of teams that have their offers ready,” ESPN insider Brian Windhorst said on “Get Up” on Wednesday morning with the Cavaliers playing to keep their season alive Wednesday night against the Celtics.
During the conversation, show contributor Chiney Ogwumike asked Windhorst whether the Lakers are among those vying for Mitchell’s service.
“Absolutely,” Windhorst answered.
Co-host Mike Greenberg questioned whether the Knicks could still be interested in Mitchell’s services, which received some cold water from Windhorst.
“I don’t think … The Knicks are trying to win this Eastern Conference semifinals, although certainly across the river there in Brooklyn,” Windhorst said.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
