Lakers legend Jerry West not happy after Jeanie Buss’ snub
NY Post
Lakers legend Jerry West feels snubbed by team owner Jeanie Buss after she didn’t include him in her top-five most important Lakers of all-time.
West — whose silhouette is the official NBA logo — spent his entire 14-year playing career with the Lakers and led the team to a title in 1972. He was named an All-Star every season, was voted on to 12 All-NBA teams and was head coach of the Lakers from 1976 through 1979, leading them to the playoffs each year. But, Buss still doesn’t consider West as one of her top-five most important Lakers of all-time.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
