
Lakers’ Anthony Davis drops Jae Crowder with painful kick to the groin

Ouch.
Suns forward Jae Crowder took a kick to the groin by Lakers big man Anthony Davis on Tuesday night. In the first minute of Game 2 of the Lakers’ 109-102 win over the Suns, Davis went up for a jump shot and followed through with a right kick to Crowder’s crotch area. The Suns star immediately collapsed on the court and fell to his knees in pain.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
