Lab tests, X-ray services available again at Yukon hospitals after 'unplanned technology issue'

Walk-in lab testing and X-ray services are back to normal at Yukon's hospitals after some technical problems earlier on Thursday.
Yukon Hospitals said in a statement on Thursday afternoon that an "unplanned technology issue" had prevented health staff at hospitals in Whitehorse, Watson Lake and Dawson City from logging onto some systems that morning.
"Our teams rely on these systems to record tests and procedures in patients’ health records and ensure care providers receive information in a timely, safe, and secure manner," the statement reads.
The technical problems also affected some Yukon government systems, it said.
All services were restored just after lunchtime on Thursday.
Yukon Hospitals said health staff prioritized urgent tests required for cancer care, while the systems were down.
