
Kollu Ravindra calls for action plan to put Anakapalli on the path of progress

Anakapalli Minister urges action plans for district development, addressing water issues, electricity supply, and skill training initiatives.
Anakapalli district in-charge Minister Kollu Ravindra on Monday (May 5) asked officials to prepare action plans for undertaking development works in the district, including the one to overcome drinking water problems in the summer.
Mr. Ravindra was presiding over the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting held at the Collector’s Office here. Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, MLC Botcha Satyanarayana, Collector Vijaya Krishnan, MLCs Varudu Kalyani, Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao, MLAs Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, K.S.N. Raju, Visakhapatnam City Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, chairpersons of corporations Gandi Babji, Malla Surendra, Battula Tataiah Babu, P.V.G. Kumar and Pragada Nageswara Rao participated in the DRC meeting.
Collector Vijaya Krishnan elaborated on the discussions, which came up at the last DRC meeting, and the action taken on the suggestions made at the meeting.
The Minister called upon the officials to have the irrigation canals repaired and asked the electricity officials to ensure supply of uninterrupted and quality power during the summer. He said he would take the problems of the Chodavaram Sugar Factory workers to the notice of the Chief Minister. He asked the officials to implement the suggestions given by the people’s representatives for the development of the district.
Congratulating students and education officials for the improved SSC pass percentage in the district, Mr. Ravindra said that the district secured 88.25 this year as against 81 last year. He also asked the officials to spread awareness among the people on the need to install rooftop solar panels to not only save electricity but also for the betterment of the environment.
Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu underlined the need to repair defunct borewells and to make alternative arrangements to tide over water crisis in summer. He also suggested establishment of a special monitoring committee in the district to enable the public to lodge complaints pertaining to water woes.
Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana called for measures to settle the pending arrears of sugarcane farmers of Govada Sugar Factory. He said the pending dues to farmers and sugar factory workers amounted to ₹40 crore and sought immediate release of funds.
