Knicks’ RJ Barrett eyes medal as Canada enters Olympic qualifying

No rest for the weary.
In his second NBA season, RJ Barrett played in all 72 games for the Knicks, then all five games in their first-round playoff series vs. Atlanta that ended June 2. Less than a month later, the Knicks’ No. 3 pick in 2019 will be back on the court Tuesday as the starting shooting guard for Team Canada as it faces Greece (minus Giannis Antetokounmpo) in Victoria, British Columbia.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
