
Knicks’ Mike Brown already vouching for Jalen Brunson’s MVP case: ‘Not enough chatter’

Jalen Brunson has been talked about as the league’s best sixth man, finishing fourth in 2020-21.
He has been in the middle of discussions for Clutch Player of the Year (three top-five finishes, including a trophy last season).
Most Improved Player, too, including a third-place honor in 2022-23.
He finally was voted onto an All-Star roster during the 2023-24 season, when he also cracked an All-NBA team.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
