Knicks embarrassed in season-opening beatdown to reigning champion Celtics
NY Post
BOSTON — The new-look Knicks were just guests to a Boston Three Party.
Touted as the top threat to the Celtics in the East, New York put up the resistance of a wet paper bag as the Celtics nearly cleared the all-time record from beyond the arc in their ring night blowout win, 132-109.
It was a mess right away for the Knicks, who trotted out their expensive and star-studded lineup and trailed by as many as 21 in the first quarter.
Tom Thibodeau’s squad never recovered.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
