The autopsy of popular singer KK, who passed away on Tuesday evening after a show in Kolkata, will be conducted on Wednesday at a government hospital in the city.

The Kolkata Police has registered an unnatural death case over the death of singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK. The case was registered at the New Market police station.

The singer on Tuesday, May 31, collapsed at the Grand Hotel, under the New Market police station area, after returning from a show in Kolkata and was rushed to a private hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police sources, his face and head bore injuries. The autopsy would be conducted at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday to ascertain the cause of death. The police will also talk to the hotel staff and the event organisers.

KK got his break as a playback singer with A R Rahman's hit songs 'Kalluri Saaley' and 'Hello Doctor'. In Bollywood, he started by singing a small portion of 'Chhod Aaye Hum' from Gulzar's Maachis. His first full-fledged Bollywood song was, however, the hugely popular 'Tadap tadap ke' from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999.
