The Indian National League members during a meeting in a private hotel in Kochi started quarreling among themselves.
Indian National League(INL) members have reportedly clashed among themselves during a meeting at a private hotel in Kochi.INL has for the first time got representation in the Kerala Assembly and cabinet in this election.Party candidate Ahammad Devarkovil who won as part of the Left Democratic Front(LDF) coalition was given a Cabinet berth by the LDF.On Sunday, the state secretariat was convened in Kochi to discuss the internal issues. Soon after the meeting began at a private hotel in Kochi, party activists started quarreling outside the hotel. This soon turned into a violent clash.Following the clash, the meeting was cut short abruptly.State President AP Abdul Vahab left the meeting venue, appealing to everyone to disperse.Minister Ahammad Devarkovil who was at the hotel for the meeting could not come out because of the clash outside. Later, he was brought out with police protection.Party President Abdul Vahab has announced that General Secretary Kasim Irikkur has been expelled from the party.In response, the Kasim Irrikkur faction has announced the removal of President Abdul Vahab and 7 secretariat members from the party.Local police have registered a case against the hotel for allowing the meeting amidst Covid-19 restrictions.
