The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary have taken two men and one woman into custody — and are looking for a second woman — in connection to two home invasions in St. John's and Paradise, N.L. this week.
Police said the two men forced entry into a home in the Southlands neighbourhood of St. John's early Thursday morning. There were no injuries.
Then before 5 a.m. NT Friday morning, the two men were joined by two women, and the group forced entry into a Paradise home, police said.
Late Friday afternoon, police issued a shelter-in-place order for a part of the Kenmount Terrace neighbourhood, and located three of the accused in a home. They were taken into custody without incident.
A search is ongoing for the fourth person — one of the women — and police are asking that anyone with information about her whereabouts contact them.
One of the men in custody is facing seven charges, including break and enter, assault with a weapon, and robbery with violence. The other man faces four charges, including break and enter, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and robbery with violence.
Police said the two women will be charged with break and enter, and robbery with violence.
The RNC said they believe both home invasions were targeted, and there is no risk to public safety.
The shelter-in-place order was lifted around 6:15 p.m. NT.
The shelter-in-place order applied to Ann Harvey Place, Sir Wilfred Grenfell Street, Cape Norman Street, Orlando Place, and Henry Larsen Street.
