Kejriwal’s appeal to sing National Anthem on Aug 14 gets BJP’s ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi’ jibe

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal asked people to hold the National Flag and sing the National Anthem at 5 pm on August 14. BJP leader Amit Malviya accused the Delhi CM of “playing to a constituency”.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called upon the people to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Independence by holding the tricolour and singing the National Anthem at 5 pm on August 14. This has not gone down well with the Bharatiya Janata Party, with Amit Malviya calling Arvind Kejriwal “sinister and evil”.
During an online briefing on Friday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, 'Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Haath Tiranga' and other events are being held to celebrate the occasion. Today, I want to appeal to the people of the country that they sing the National Anthem at 5 pm (on August 14).”
In response, BJP leader Amit Malviya hit out at the Delhi CM and accused him of “playing to a constituency”.
“14th August? Arvind Kejriwal is sinister and evil. He is playing to a constituency, knowing fully well that India got its independence on 15th August. But we understand why those who supported ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi’ in Shaheen Bagh would want to celebrate it on 14th August,” Amit Malviya tweeted.
