
Kanakamahalakshmi jatara begins on a grand note at Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district

Annual jatara at Kanakamahalakshmi temple in Cheepurupalli draws thousands of devotees from North Andhra and Odisha.
Thousands of devotees offered prayers to Goddess Mahalakshmi in Kanakamahalakshmi temple at Cheepurupalli on Sunday during the beginning of the annual jatara which drew a huge number of pilgrims from different parts of North Andhra region and Odisha. The entire Cheepurupalli wore a festive look on the beginning of three-day event. TDP MLA Kala Venkata Rao and his son and TDP State Secretary Kimidi Ram Mallik Naidu offered prayers in the temple.
Mr. Mallik offered pattuvastram (silk robes) to the presiding deity on the occasion. Endowments Department Assistant Commissioner K. Sireesha and Executive Officer B. Srinivas made elaborate arrangements for hassle-free darshan of the Goddess during the annual celebrations which would culminate on Tuesday.
