Kamya Panjabi shares how she's prepping to perfect her role as a Rajasthani in Sanjog

From getting into the banjaran look to learning the Rajasthani dialect, Kamya Punjabi is working hard to get into her role in Sanjog. The show will soon premiere on Zee TV.
Rashmi Sharma Telefilms has collaborated with Zee TV for a new fiction show, Sanjog. It is touted to be a mature family drama, which revolves around the complexities of the relationship between two very different mothers - Amrita and Gauri, who belong to very contrasting worlds, and their respective daughters. Actress Kamya Punjabi will be seen playing the role of Gauri on the show. She shared how she is prepping for her role of banjaran.
It seems getting into the character has not been a piece of cake for Kamya Punjabi. Kamya has actually left no stone unturned for Sanjog. She is excited about her new project and can't wait for her fans to see her in the new look. The actress is learning the Rajasthani dialect for her character. Speaking about her prep for the role, Kamya Punjabi said, "I am in love with Gauri’s look. It is actually pretty different from anything I have portrayed before on-screen. Prior to this, I had not got the opportunity to carry long hair, traditional nose pin and heavy silver jewellery for any character. To showcase the roots and nuances of my Rajasthani character, we’ve concentrated a lot on the appearance and the dialect."
She further added, "In fact, I keep watching videos and learning from them as well as connect with my friends who live there to learn the correct pronunciation. Be it the appearance or the dialect, my character has a banjaran feel and I am genuinely enjoying it. The character has a completely different vibe."
She further added, “Just like every actor who goes through the process of researching and learning about their character, I have also done my homework. In fact, I am still working hard to adapt to the correct Rajasthani dialect and to get all the nuances right. I just hope all my fans and viewers love Gauri as much as they love me.”
Sanjog features the journey of two mothers trying to navigate the complexities of parenting. The show will soon premiere on Zee TV.
