Judge delays trial of three former cops charged in Floyd’s death

Judge says federal civil rights case against officers should take place before officers are put on trial.
A Minnesota judge has delayed the trial of three former Minneapolis police officers charged with aiding and abetting in the death of George Floyd. The officers, J Kueng, Tou Thao and Thomas Lane, had their trial date pushed to March 2022. It was previously scheduled for August 23. The officers face charges they aided and abetted second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, while he was in police custody. Former officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of unintentional murder and manslaughter on April 20.More Related News
