Joomana doubles up at Le Lion d’Angers

Having shed her maiden tag at the track last month, two-year-old filly Joomana (Olympic Glory x Scandalous) carried the colours of her owner H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani to a second consecutive success when landing the Prix De Sautre at Le Lion d’Angers yesterday.
Trained by Henri-Alex Pantall, Joomana notched up a second career success from only four starts and remains unbeaten at Le Lion d’Angers. Ridden by Soufiane Saadi, Joomana was quickly out of the stalls and was immediately placed behind early pace-setter Djenaba (Siyouni). With only a steady pace being set through the first half of the contest, Joomana travelled keenly under Saadi. Well placed throughout, she took closer order as the tightlyknit, seven strong field turned for home. At the 400m pole, both Joomana and Khan (Sea The Moon) made ground on the outside of Djenaba, making virtually three in a line. Inside the final 200m, Djenaba began to fade as Joomana and Khan broke clear of the field.More Related News
