Jonny Bairstow in the middle of hot streak that batters have once or twice in their career: Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan has praised Jonny Bairstow's fine form and feels that he is overshadowing Joe Root with his batting exploits.
Michael Vaughan has heaped praise on Jonny Bairtsow's batting form, saying that it is the kind of hot streak that batters have once or twice in their careers.
Bairstow has been a revelation for England in Tests as the right-handed batter has already scored six hundreds this year and has amassed a total of 994 runs at an average of 76.46. He was instrumental in England's whitewash of the World Test Champions, New Zealand, and continued his fine run against India.
The 32-year-old was the Man Of The Match in the rearranged Test at Edgbaston as he scored twin tons to deny the visitors from winning the series.
Speaking about Bairstow's form, in his column for the Daily telegraph, Vaughan said that the English batter is experiencing a hot streak that happens once or twice in a player's career. The former England captain used his own fine run in 2002-03 as an example to drive home the point. However, he admitted that he is unsure if his run with the bat can match with Bairstow's incredible form.
“Jonny Bairstow is currently going through the type of hot streak that batters only go through once or twice in their career when they feel almost invincible. I experienced it in 2002-03 when things seemed totally clear and runs were easy to come by. I scored a lot of runs in the summer against India and then continued that form into the Ashes in Australia. But I’m not sure mine was anywhere near as strong as what Jonny is going through at the moment," said Vaughan.
The former England captain also went on to say that Bairstow's form at the moment has forced Joe Root to get barely mentioned, despite his fine exploits with the bat.
“How well Jonny is playing is shown by the fact that there is someone at the other end, Joe Root, scoring almost as many runs but barely getting mentioned. He is overshadowing the greatest England batter that I’ve ever seen," said Vaughan.
