
Jon Stewart Suffers Gruesome Injury On 'Daily Show' Set As Segment Goes Awry

The "Daily Show" host worked through a bloody hand injury during the show's opening monologue.
Jon Stewart accidentally cut open his own hand on Monday night’s “Daily Show” after shattering a mug on his desk as he railed against the pharmaceutical industry.
Stewart spent much of the opening monologue criticizing President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk’s efforts to make budget cuts via their Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) program.
Stewart called himself “DOGE curious” and said he would also like to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse ― then went after the effort for instead targeting everyday workers and relatively low-cost programs.
He slammed DOGE for not taking on the oil industry, which reaps billions in government subsidies, and pharmaceutical companies, which develop drugs with the help of taxpayer money then sell those medications back to the public at top dollar while also enjoying extra protections from the federal government.
