In good news for job seekers in India, more and more companies are planning to hire freshers this year.
Around 47 per cent of companies surveyed across the country intended to hire freshers. This is up from the global average of only 7 per cent, Economic Times reported quoting TeamLease EdTech.
Employers' intent to hire freshers was up to 47 per cent during January to June 2022 from 17 per cent in July-December 2021.
The top three sectors that are intending to hire freshers are information technology, telecommunications, and e-commerce and technology startups.
Among the cities, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi will have more jobs for freshers during the January-June 2022 period.
Cities like Gurgaon, Pune, Chandigarh, Indore and Nagpur have witnessed a dip in hiring for freshers.
Meanwhile, the hiring intent is expected to grow to 31 per cent, which is a direct reflection of the recovery the Indian economy is witnessing post pandemic, according to a report by taggd.
