Job fair, science expo for PwDs from Jan. 29 at JSSPDA

JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled (JSSPDA), Mysuru, in association with the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), Bengaluru and the Association of People with Disability (APD), Bengaluru, will be organising a three-day inclusive programme from January 29 to 31 at its campus.
JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled (JSSPDA), Mysuru, in association with the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), Bengaluru and the Association of People with Disability (APD), Bengaluru, will be organising a three-day inclusive programme from January 29 to 31 at its campus.
As part of the initiative, a one-day job fair for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) will be held on January 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing an opportunity for differently abled candidates to interact with inclusive employers and explore employment options. More than 10 employers and over 200 candidates are expected to participate.
A State-level Science Expo and Open Day will be conducted on January 30 and 31, showcasing over 50 innovative projects developed by differently abled students from across Karnataka. Cash prizes, certificates and mementoes will be awarded to the best projects, while all participants will receive participation certificates. Cultural programmes, fun games and a food court will also be part of the Open Day.
The Science Expo and Open Day will be inaugurated on January 30 at 11 a.m. Sadashivaprabhu, director, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, will be the chief guest, while B. Elangovan, principal, JSSPDA, will preside.
Dr. B. Suresh, pro-chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research and director, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and Amshi Prasanna Kumar, senior journalist, will be the guests of honour.
The valedictory function will be held on January 31 at 4 p.m., with Dr. Basava Kumar K.G., joint director, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, as the chief guest, and S. Murthy, chairman, Deaf Association, Mysuru, as the guest of honour.
