Japan PM Fumio Kishida dissolves lower house for October 31 national election

Japan’s new Prime Minister Fumio Kishida dissolved the lower house of the Parliament on Thursday, paving the way for October 31 national elections.
Mr. Kishida said he is seeking the public’s mandate for his policies after being elected prime minister by the parliament only 10 days ago to replace Yoshihide Suga.
Tadamori Oshima, the speaker of the more powerful lower chamber, announced the dissolution at a plenary session.

Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy has 79 criminal cases pending against him, of which 51 are related to attacks by him and his followers on persons belonging to the BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, says the TDP.
