J.T. Miller out again for Rangers as team hit with slew of injury worries
NY Post
If the Rangers are to end a season-high four-game losing streak Monday night against the Blues, they will have to do it without captain J.T Miller, who will miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury.
Miller, who suffered the injury after scoring two goals during Thursday’s loss in Colorado, remains day-to-day.
The 32-year-old has gotten off to a slow start in his first full season of his second stint with the team, recording six goals and six assists through 22 games, contributing to the Rangers’ 28th-ranked offense and worst home start in franchise history.
The Rangers might also be without center Vincent Trocheck, who was held out of Monday’s morning skate for precautionary reasons.
Backup goaltender Jonathan Quick is being evaluated for a lower-body injury after colliding with Utah’s Michael Carcone in Saturday’s loss.
The Rangers recalled Dylan Garand to likely back up Igor Shesterkin, while also promoting winger Brett Berard, who could make his season debut with the Rangers.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
