
It's shameful that paid leave is stuck in limbo

Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, of MomsRising.org, writes that President Biden's current Build Back Better budget reconciliation budget includes tremendous gains for families across the country, but is missing one key thing: The high-polling and urgently-needed policy of paid family/medical leave. The measure would "make possible for people to recover from from childbirth to bond with a new child, or to take care of themselves or a close loved one if a serious health crisis strikes." But she says "the fight is still on" and is calling for Congress to take action and pass it immediately.

A number of Jeffrey Epstein survivors voiced their concern in a private meeting with female Democratic lawmakers earlier this week about the intermittent disclosure of Epstein-related documents and photos by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, sharing that the selective publication of materials was distressing, four sources familiar with the call told CNN.
