Gaza: Director of the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip Dr. Ismail Al Thawabta said the Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar represents a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and reveals a reckless occupation tendency that pays no attention to the norms of international relations or the sanctity of land and national sovereignty.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) today, Dr. Al Thawabta said that the Israeli occupation's targeting of the Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha constitutes a blatant attempt to pressure the State of Qatar and dissuade it from its principled positions that have earned it the respect of the nation and free peoples.
He stressed that this Israeli attack and aggression comes amid Qatar's mediation efforts and its continued humanitarian and political support for the Palestinian people, in addition to its positive, pivotal role in establishing all aspects of goodness and stability wherever it has made efforts.
Dr. Al Thawabta expressed his strongest condemnation of the blatant Israeli aggression targeting the Qatari capital, Doha, considering it a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of a sovereign state and a direct assault on a mediating state that plays a pivotal role in efforts to de-escalate and protect lives in the Gaza Strip.
He stressed that this dangerous Israeli attack can only be viewed within the context of a systematic escalation aimed at thwarting diplomatic efforts led by Qatar and another pivotal state, and sending a threatening message to all regional parties that adopt moral and humanitarian positions in support of the rights of the Palestinian people.
